Can I withdraw from the consumer loan agreement?

As a rule, you can withdraw from a consumer loan agreement without giving a reason within 14 days of its conclusion. Send the statement in accordance with the information in the contract. After withdrawal, you return the principal and interest due for the period of use of the money, no later than within 30 days of submitting the declaration. Special situations, e.g. missing required elements of the contract, may affect the running of the deadline.

How to file a loan complaint?

Submit it directly to the lender through the channel indicated in its procedure. Describe the event, provide the contract number, request and evidence; keep the sending confirmation. With respect to entities covered by the Complaints Act, the response is generally made within 30 days, and in particularly complex cases, up to 60 days after the required explanation of the extension. Once you have exhausted your complaints, you can turn to the Financial Ombudsman for help. Please report any problems with the operation of this website via your contact details.

What are the risks of guaranteeing someone else's loan?

The guarantor undertakes to the creditor to fulfill the obligation if the debtor fails to fulfill it. The scope of liability results from the contract and regulations; it may involve more than just capital. Check the amount, period and terms of liability before signing. Don't treat the surety as a mere formality - it may require you to repay someone else's debt from your own funds.

What is the consumer credit information form used for?

This is a document that makes it easier to familiarize yourself with key parameters and compare offers before concluding a contract. Includes, among others: amount, duration, costs, APR, repayment rules and information about consumer rights. Read it together with the draft contract. Keep the document as received; an advertisement or a calculator screen alone does not replace it.

Can I receive a draft of the contract before signing it?

In the case of a consumer loan, you can receive a free draft contract upon request if, in the lender's opinion, you meet the conditions for granting a loan. Request the document well in advance to check obligations and costs. Do not confirm the conclusion of the contract only to find out its content later.

Can I withdraw marketing consent after receiving the loan?

You can withdraw your voluntary consent to marketing using the channel indicated by the consent recipient. Keep your registration confirmation. Withdrawal does not cancel the loan agreement or the repayment obligation and does not mean the deletion of all data that the institution has the right or obligation to further process. Check who consent was granted if you used an intermediary.

What is the difference between contact with a debt collector and bailiff proceedings?

The debt collector takes actions aimed at voluntary repayment, e.g. sends notices and conducts conversations. For this reason, the bailiff does not have the authority to seize wages or accounts. The bailiff works within the framework of legally defined enforcement proceedings. Check the identity of the interlocutor and the basis for the request, and do not ignore court or bailiff correspondence.
