IDENTT joins the test environment of mObywatel Europa, the Polish version of the European Digital Identity Wallet. A company developing remote identification and biometrics wants to check the technical requirements and prepare its products and customers for the new method of data confirmation.
The wallet is created in connection with the eIDAS 2.0 regulation. Its task is to securely store and share identification data and electronic credentials, also when using services in other EU countries. In Poland, the Central IT Center is responsible for the solution. The September pilot precedes the release of the target wallet and does not yet mean universal support by all companies.
IDENTT intends to explore further usage scenarios and share the results with partners, especially banks and telecoms. For the financial sector, what is at stake is the efficient inclusion of confirmed information in customer onboarding and authentication, instead of basing the entire process on sending photos of documents.
The tests also serve to learn the rules of cooperation between relying parties and credential issuers. The company simultaneously checks compliance with the European demonstration portfolios.
