PKO BP customers confirm suspicious card transactions in the app

PKO Bank Polski enables self-confirmation of card transactions requiring additional verification. When the security system detects an unusual payment or withdrawal and temporarily blocks the card, the customer using the application receives a notification and an SMS. It can indicate that it recognizes the operation without waiting for a call from the bank.

Confirmation of the correct transaction allows you to automatically unblock the card. If the customer does not recognize the payment, he or she can block it and order a new one. Failure to respond within the prescribed time will trigger the current contact path through the consultant or voice assistant.

The implementation announced on October 23, 2026 is intended to shorten the time needed to clarify alarms and increase user control over access to their own card. It concerns the handling of situations indicated by the security system, not the voluntary approval of every ordinary payment. The new process is not an automatic recognition of the complaint or a refund for the earlier, disputed operation.
