Ikano and Autopay add mObywatel to verify installment customers

Customers of the Polish branch of Ikano Bank have the opportunity to confirm their identity using the mObywatel application when making installment purchases at IKEA. The implementation is created in cooperation with Autopay and extends the set of identification methods supported in the online process. Previously, the following were available: photo verification, verification transfer and AIS solution.

When submitting an application, the customer selects a new method and the system generates a code that allows the data to be transferred through the government application. When using a telephone, the code can be copied to mObywatel and scanned in the case of two devices. After confirmation, the information goes to the bank's verification process.

The solution is part of ID HUB Autopay, a set of components for user identification. The January 2026 announcement describes a specific implementation in installment sales, not just a test of the European Identity Wallet. Changing the method of confirming your data does not replace your credit score and does not mean automatic approval for financing your purchases.
